Hazel Keech talks about her favourite past times

Hazel Keech talks about her favourite past times

One of my favourite past times is travelling. I love visiting new places and revisiting others.

As a traveller, I enjoy seeing touristy sites as well as observing how the locals live. The best cuisine of any place is usually in the people's houses. That's the real taste of the country.

Recently, I went to Mauritius and revisited the touristic sites which I haven't seen for years. Although, Mauritius has great restaurants, my mom and aunt makes amazing Mauritian cuisine as well. Needless to say, their dishes are yummy!

How does Nargis Fakhri handle Indian humidity

How does Nargis Fakhri handle Indian humidity

Monsoon is the time when your hair behaves differently due to the humidity in the air, and a diligent hair care regime is needed to nourish your hair from within, and keep your volume and bounce. CS gets Nargis Fakhri to share a few simple tips on hair care this season:

Fighting that moisture
Being in a glamorous profession, I need an effective hair care regime that can cope with the excess moisture in the air during monsoon and keep my hair smooth and manageable 24x7. Three thumb rules I swear by for my hair are drinking water, a healthy diet, adequate sleep and regular deep conditioning massages with hot coconut based hair oil.

The conditioning mantra
A 20 minutes deep conditioning massage with hot coconut based hair oil is my non-negotiable hair care ritual, especially during the monsoon. Coconut based hair oil deeply penetrates into your scalp to deeply condition your hair, making it an instant solution against the frizz.

Treat them nice
When I wash my hair in the monsoon, I pat my hair dry with a towel, and use a soft hairbrush or a wide-toothed comb so that my hair isn't treated harshly and it maintains its shine and natural oils.

Keeping it simple
I also make sure that I don't tie my hair very tightly as it will leave the strands broken leading to unnecessary damage and roughness. It's best to keep your hairdo as simple as possible, maybe a sleek ponytail or a bun. These styles work well in this season, and are hassle free too.

The actress gets ready to globe trot for the festival premieres of her upcoming films

Apart from signing a Hindi film after a hiatus (debutant Karan Butani's flick opposite Jimmy Sheirgill), Shriya Saran is packing her bags for her trips to Toronto and Tokyo. In the meanwhile, the actress, who is currently shooting in Mysore for a period fantasy bilingual (Kannada-Tamil), has been shuttling between Mumbai and the South for her regional commitments.

Says Shriya, `I am looking forward to these back-to-back trips. From Toronto, I will leave directly for Tokyo. Mira Nair is keen to have the entire cast at the film's premiere. Rajnikant Sir has a huge fan base in Tokyo, so I am looking forward to see him and his scores of Japanese fans in action.`

The starlet is also planning her outfits for the red carpet at both the festivals. `I am right now busy with my shoot in Mysore, and there is barely a week before I leave.`

Shriya begins shooting for her untitled Hindi film in December in Uttar Pradesh. She says, `People may find me missing from the Hindi film scene. This is due to my projects in the South. I am doing Tamil, Telugu and Kannada films.

Aamir high standards upset Akki

Aamir high standards upset Akki

Even though two of his recent films have crossed the 100-crore mark, Akshay Kumar says he isn't at peace yet, as the pressure has been built ever since Aamir Khan's 'Ghajini' first set the box office milestone

Both 'Rowdy Rathore' and 'Housefull 2' grossed well but Akshay said the monkey is not off his back as one needs to live up to people's expectations everyday in this industry.

"Forget the monkey, I feel like I have been carrying King Kong on my back ever since the release of that first film (Ghajini) which smashed the 100 crore mark a few years back. Aamir has set some high standards.

"In this industry it's never about what you have accomplished in the past. If your not breaking records or setting trends today, you are in trouble," Akshay told. After "Ghajini" (2008), Aamir's "3 Idiots" also broke records at the box office. Akshay, 44, said that he was aware of the numbers being accumulated by his peers.

"One has to stay in the game for it's a hard monkey chain to climb if you don't. Moreover, there is no such thing as free bananas in this line of business. I know that without a blink of an eye, my happiness can be taken away from me at any moment. This is how nature works," he said.

Talking about his latest release 'Joker', which hit theatres on Friday, Akshay described the film as a 'world of mysteries and lies'. "It's an intelligent script which is created to make the audience step out of the norm and lose themselves in the world of mysteries and lies.

However, that's only if their minds can allow them to do so. It's a humble rural sci-fi full of madness, jokes, love and adventure," said Akshay.

This is also Akshay's first film which has a heavy dose of VFX and a genre like this is comparatively new to the Indian screen. "It's something fun and exciting for the families to enjoy. Sometimes that's more important than going for an obvious wannabe blockbuster," the actor said.

Naughty Chitrangada liked 'Fakht you'

Naughty Chitrangada liked `Fakht you`

Lyrics of Chitrangada Singh's item number "Kafirana" from just-released "Joker" has been changed, but the actress says that she liked the original lyrics much better.

The lyrics have been changed from "Fakht you" to "Just you" to avoid any controversy.

"Personally, I like the original version. I know it's a bit naughty, but the idea was for it not to be offensive. So keeping that in mind, this one is also nice. But I like the original better," she told reporters at an event here.

Talking about the censor board's cuts, the actress feels that some of their actions are necessary, others not required.

"I think till a limit, censorship is right. There is too much exposure. You think of the kids most of the times, they should not have access to such things. But sometimes, we just push it a bit too much. It's not required sometimes," she said.

Directed by Shirish Kunder, "Joker" stars Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha.

I never thought I'd last this long in B-town: Neha Dhupia

I never thought I`d last this long in B-town: Neha Dhupia

Neha Dhupia is on the verge of completing a decade in the Hindi film industry. Understandably, the Cochin-born Punjabi kudi is excited about it.

But at the same time, she feels that her best is yet to come. Neha made her entry into Bollywood with oomph but lately has been choosing 'the middle path' - more challenging scripts.

She will be next seen portraying the role of a wannabe actress and has a mainstream film with Emraan Hashmi lined up for release. In a candid chat with CS, the 31-year-old actress expresses her views on her career and a lot more:

A decade down
I've come a long way as I never thought I'd last this long. I'm an actor by default and I've had my share of ups and downs. To me, good cinema speaks for itself and your work remains immortal. You might kick the bucket tomorrow but what will be left of you is your IMDb page.

Having no godfather
It's not easier when you have a godfather or a father in the industry but it's much harder when you don't. But it's also a double-edged sword as you're expected to deliver. The only moments in my career I regret not having a godfather is when I have to make a decision and I don't know what exactly to do.

Casting ouch
The hardest part is to say no to a project because you're tempted at so many levels - at the level of working with big stars and money. But if the script has nothing to offer you as an actor, what's the point?

Those are the things that are scary, not the casting couch. If you ask me, that imaginary couch doesn't even exist. At least not if you avoid putting yourself in that position where you get easily manipulated.

First item number
Doing an item song today is totally different from what it used to be, say three years ago. I'm nervous like hell as the shooting begins in the middle of September. I don't want to let myself down (laughs).

The struggling act
I'm playing a struggling actor in my next and I feel the same in my real life. In fact, I think that people who are sitting right on the top are struggling too. Everybody in this industry is struggling and if they deny that, they're lying. When I had no work, I wasn't struggling as much as I'm doing now because there are set goals now.

How Ameesha has suddenly become a hot and sexy girl?

How Ameesha has suddenly become a hot and sexy girl?

The actress speaks out from her heart about the buzz surrounding her

Of late, Ameesha Patel's name has been dragged into several controversies. Though there are several speculations, the star rubbishes them all. Read on...

How is 2012 going for you?
The year couldn't have begun better then it did (touchwood) with so much of happening from Race 2 to Bhaiyyaji Superhit to Shortcut Romeo to endorsements to my own production house. I am also in talks for two other films. Things are looking positive and God willing next year, it will be even better and bigger.

How was it working with actors like Anil Kapoor, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Sunny Deol, John Abraham and Saif Ali Khan all in one year together?
It's been a pleasure knowing them all and working with such fine actors. Of course I've already worked with Saif and Sunny before. It's been a pleasure to work with them again and be a part of some big films.

What about your personal relationship? How come we don't hear any more about that?
I've always been honest about them and spoken about them which I guess didn't really go well for me. Now I'm just focussing on my career and my production house and enjoying life more then I have ever and in no mood for any serious relationships at all.

How come the sweet girl Ameesha has suddenly become a hot and sexy girl?
The credit goes entirely to my business partner Kuunal Goomer who always feels that it's the correct attitude that sells in Bollywood. Since I have the looks, talent and attitude then why not show it? (touchwood).

Things have been really working and in spite of a big gap and some negative people who always try writing me off here I am here with five releases lined up in the next 12 months.

What about the rumours that you were removed from a property that you claimed to have purchased?
Firstly, the property which was spoken about was the one which my partner Kuunal and I were planning to rent on behalf of our company in his and my name on behalf of Ameesha Patel Productions. It was for our CEO Sanchita Chatterjee to reside and not for me.

The deal for the house which I was supposed to purchase from the same owner in the same building fell off at a very early stage. The owner called my broker Sanjay after taking a token for the rented house after which my partner Kuunal and I both signed on a basic letter as a confirmation since our CEO needed to shift ASAP.

But after encashing our cheque three days later, he came up with the excuse that I being a celebrity will create problems in the building once he sells the apartment to me and press won't be allowed in the building if I have parties.

My partner and I found it ridiculous so my CEO Sanchita and I backed off from the deal and as no registration was done, I asked for my money back for rented house deal which he has happily encashed.

So in retaliation he put up rubbish news in papers as he didn't want to pay the money back. So as of now I'm happily staying where I am staying since years now and in fact my hunt for a lovely dream apartment is still on

What does Ameesha Patel Productions have in store for the people?
Our company is currently working on a project that is my partner Kuunal's concept called Desi Magic. It is entirely his brainchild and we should go on the floors latest by mid-October. We are excited about it and of course post that we shall be busy with our other project with David Dhawan.

What is your reaction towards the Bhatts when they refer to your name for the character that Bipasha Basu is playing in their film Raaz 3?
Each one is entitled to his opinion and we should all respect that. I hope the film does well for them after all so much hard work, efforts, passion, time and money goes into a film. The Bhatts are very talented and have made some very special films that entertain people and I'm sure this, too, will and I hope the best for them

What is Ameesha Patel's dream?
All that I can dream now is that like Gadar which had touched a R 200 crore club mark and created history, I hope in this second innings of mine I am lucky to work with some fine actors and directors who feel that Ameesha Patel is the sexy actress whom they would love to romance on screen and celebrate their box office success with and deliver another R 200 crore at the box office.
