Kate Moss has told how she suffered a nervous breakdown as a teenager and was in tears after being pushed into posing topless.
The 38-year-old described how uncomfortable she felt about undressing to pose for style magazine The Face with photographer Corrine Day, a shoot that helped propel her to fame, and even asked the only man in the photoshoot to turn his back so he wouldn't see her "boobs".
"I see a 16-year-old now, and to ask her to take her clothes off would feel really weird," she said. "But they were like 'If you don't do it we're not going to book you again'. So I'd lock myself in the toilet and cry and then come out and do it."
Moss said she had the breakdown when she was 17 or 18 after her Calvin Klein campaign with rapper Marky Mark.
"I felt really bad about straddling this buff guy," she said. "I couldn't get out of bed for two weeks. I thought I was going to die."
Moss said Depp came to her aid during their four-year relationship, but there were "years and years of crying" when they split up.
She told interviewer James Fox in hte magazine's December issue: "I really lost that gauge of somebody I could trust."
